Welcome

I’m new. . .

Going to a new church can be awkward when you do not know what to expect. Let us give you a “heads up,” about what you can expect when you join us at First Free Will Baptist Church Of Visalia.

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions. You might have some more questions and we would love to answer them. If your question is not answered below, e-mail us at ffwbcovisalia@gmail.com and we will promptly reply.

We gather for God

People go to church for different reasons. Even churches have different purposes for existing. The primary reason we gather on Sundays is to worship the God who offers forgiveness of sins, restoration for humanity, and redemption for the world through Jesus Christ. In other words, it is more about Him than it is about us. However, by gathering, we gain a better understanding of ourselves. In a normal service, we will sing about Him and to Him. Our pastor will preach and teach the word of God, and our hope is that everyone will have a personal encounter with Him that will change their life for eternity.

Pretty simple, actually… We sing, we worship together, and we hear the preached word of God. Some may verbally shout praises to God, others may cry, some just smile, the point is that at Westgate you have freedom to worship the Lord as He leads you as long as it is scriptural.

17. What should I wear?

17. What should I wear?

At First Free Will Baptist Church Of Visalia, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to one of our weekend services, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans or shorts, to as formal as suits and dresses. However, most people find themselves somewhere in the middle–most often wearing business casual. We do ask that people wear clothing that does not draw attention to themselves. We think that what you wear to church should not detract from the worship experience of others around you. We want all of the attention to go to Jesus Christ.

D6 is a movement intentional about empowering parents, homes, marriages, leaders, and churches to live out the story of Deuteronomy 6. This Scripture paints a beautiful picture for the family and of God’s heart for discipleship at home. The family is God’s original small group. D6 provides resources to align the church and home to accomplish God’s design of generational discipleship.
